JH Rose & Sons Ltd have been on this site for 20 years, and have had a Station Yard address since 1896, having been first established as coal merchants in 1889 by John Henry Rose. The business is now owned and run by the fourth generation, Chris and Tim Rose with a purpose-built commercial vehicle workshop at their new modern premises.

Over the years we have traded as general contractors, corn and cake merchants, house removers and even operated the towns rubbish cart! Mr Michael Rose, father of the current directors, started as a general haulier in 1954 and bulk tipper work began in 1978. This association with animal feed delivery continues to this day, along with our main enterprise, the suplly of sand and gravel to trade and private customers.
